Fondée en 1964, l’American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) est la principale organisation professionnelle au monde pour les médecins, chercheurs et spécialistes dans le domaine de l’oncologie.
Grand rendez-vous annuel de la recherche clinique et de l'innovation en oncologie, la conférence internationale de l’ASCO se tient chaque année à Chicago. Plusieurs dizaines de milliers de spécialistes internationaux s’y retrouvent pour présenter les recherches qui visent à améliorer les standards de traitement et la prise en charge des patients.
Pour l’édition 2022 qui se déroulera du 03 au 07 juin, l’Unité de méthodologie et de qualité de vie en cancérologie (UMQVC) du CHU de Besançon est fière d’annoncer qu’elle a réalisé la méthodologie et l’analyse statistique des données de sept présentations (quatre oraux et trois posters) sélectionnées par le comité scientifique.
Les quatre présentations orales porteront sur des résultats concernant :
- La comparaison de l’efficacité de deux types de séquences thérapeutiques chez des patients atteints de cancer colorectal métastatique sans mutation KRAS/NRAS/BRAF (étude Strategic-1)1
- L’intérêt de l’activité physique adaptée sur la qualité de vie relative à la santé de patients atteints d’un cancer du pancréas métastatique (étude APACAP)²
- L’évaluation du bénéfice apporté par l’ajout d’une chimiothérapie adjuvante à un traitement hormonal chez des patientes âgées atteintes d’un cancer du sein localisé à haut risque de récidive (étude ASTER 70s) 3
- L’intérêt de l’ajout d’une immunothérapie à une tri-chimiothérapie pour le traitement du cancer du canal anal avancé (étude SCARCE)4
Les trois posters relateront les résultats concernant :
- L’efficacité et la sécurité d’un vaccin associé à l’immunothérapie après le traitement d’induction par tri-chimiothérapie chez des patients atteints d’un cancer du pancréas métastatique (étude TEDOPAM)5
- L’efficacité et la sécurité d’une double immunothérapie avec ou sans chimiothérapie chez des patients atteints d’un cancer des voies biliaires avancé après échec de la première ligne de traitement par chimiothérapie (étude IMMUNOBIL)6
- La faisabilité et l’efficacité d’une chimiothérapie néoadjuvante chez des patients atteints d’un cancer pancréatique résécable (étude PANACHE01)7
Ce très beau bilan met en lumière le dynamisme de l’UMQVC et la richesse de ses collaborations nationales et internationales dans le domaine de l’oncologie.

Dewi Vernerey is a research engineer in epidemiology and biostatistics who received a master’s degree cum laude from Joseph Fourier University (Grenoble, France) with a major in engineering statistics. He defended a PhD in epidemiology and statistics in 2016. His PhD research focused on statistical methodology for risk prediction and prognostic score construction in oncology and kidney transplantation.
