Surgery of early cervical cancer has deeply evolved in the last 30 years. A de-escalation provided a similar survival and a better quality of life. For nodal staging, sentinel lymph node biopsy has been proposed as an alternative to classical lymphadenectomy. Several trials demonstrated the diagnostic accuracy and improved quality of life with this approach. However, survival data have yet to be reinforced.
